10 NFL Off Season Predictions

There are always surprises during the NFL offseason, and 2025 should be no exception. With star players on the move, teams tough decisions, and front offices looking to reload or rebuild, the league could look very different by next season. Here are 10 somewhat bold predictions for what might happen in the upcoming months throughout the NFL off season.

  1. Travis Kelce Comes Back For One More Season

After a blowout Super Bowl loss, retirement talks surrounding Kelce have begun to swirl—even acknowledged by the man himself. While I don’t think it’s a lock, I believe Kelce will struggle to accept that, if he does retire, his final game would be arguably the worst of his career in a Super Bowl that was never close. After thinking it over, Kelce decides to come back for one more run in Kansas City.

  1. The Rams Draft a Quarterback in the First Round

The Rams seem to be preparing for life beyond Matthew Stafford, given speculation that they are shopping him. There aren’t any significant gaps on this roster, and the team is getting younger. Even if they keep Stafford around, they may still choose to select their next franchise signal-caller in this year’s draft. Keep an eye on Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss as a potential fit with Sean McVay and company.

  1. The Titans Select Abdul Carter (Whether Keeping The 1st Pick or Trading Down)

New Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi has already stated that his team will not pass up a generational talent in the draft. While Carter might not fit that label, he is still the best player in this year's class. Some may want Tennessee to select a quarterback with the first overall pick, but I don’t think they’re just a quarterback away. Given their need for talent across the roster, the Titans could opt to trade the top pick. However, Carter’s versatility makes him an ideal fit—regardless of where they select.

  1. Tee Higgins, the No. 1 Free Agent, Signs with the Patriots

New England has the most cap space in the league and desperately needs a WR1 for Drake Maye. Higgins will be expensive, but the Patriots need to make a splash this offseason—especially after bringing in a revamped coaching staff determined to turn the team around quickly. Expect Higgins to be Boston-bound.

  1. Aaron Rodgers Retires After Not Finding an Ideal Situation

The Jets have already announced they will be parting ways with the four-time MVP after a tumultuous two-year relationship with Rodgers. While he appears eager to keep playing, I personally don’t see a fit that makes sense for either him or another franchise. I assume New York will grant Rodgers permission to speak with other teams before free agency, but after failing to find the right situation, one of the greatest players in league history ultimately walks away.

  1. The Browns Cut Deshaun Watson

Cutting Watson would be an enormous financial hit, but Cleveland needs to finally acknowledge how disastrous this partnership has been. Given that he recently re-tore his Achilles, Watson likely won’t play at all in 2025. If the Browns decide to release him, it’s fair to assume he has played his final NFL snaps—especially considering everything that comes with him off the field.

  1. Davante Adams Signs With The Rams

After splitting from Aaron Rodgers, the Jets are likely to cut Davante Adams, which would make him a top free agent target. The Rams, the meantime, announced that they will be moving on from Cooper Kupp and will be looking to add another wide receiver. It has been reported that Adams would like to return to the West Coast, and the Rams—who always seem to make a bold move—pounce on the opportunity. Adams signs with the Rams to team up with Puka Nacua, forming one of the league’s most dangerous duos.

  1. Kirk Cousins Ends Up in Cleveland

The Falcons are ready to turn the page to Michael Penix Jr., which means moving on from Kirk Cousins after one season. That leaves the veteran QB looking for a new home, and Cleveland makes a lot of sense. Cousins would be a good option to take Deshaun Watson's place and keep the Browns competitive if he were cut. It makes even more sense to reunite with Kevin Stefanski, his former offensive coordinator in Minnesota, as Cousins would already be familiar in the system.

  1. Myles Garrett Gets Traded to the Bills

Garrett has already requested a trade from the Browns, and while it would be a tough pill to swallow, the Browns could get a ransom for the star pass rusher. Buffalo, meanwhile, has been searching for the missing piece to push them over the top. After watching what the Eagles did to disrupt Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl, the Bills decide to take a massive swing and bring in possibly the best defensive player in football.

  1. Cooper Kupp Gets Cut, Signs With Bengals

The Rams have already said they will be moving on from Kupp, and while they will look to find a trade partner, it could be difficult due to his contract. I think they will ultimately be forced to cut him. Meanwhile, the Bengals are likely losing Tee Higgins, and if Kupp wants to win, teaming up with Ja'Marr Chase and Joe Burrow could be an ideal landing spot for both parties.
