Today marks the unofficial start date of the NHL offseason with draft day as team's go back to the drawing board as every franchise aims to add key pieces as they look to make a run at the Stanley Cup. So let’s not waste any time. No trades, just the order we have as of now and how I see the top 10 picks shaking out.
1. New York Islanders – D Matthew Schaefer

No surprise here as it's been locked in for weeks. With Noah Dobson likely on his way out (maybe already gone by the time you’re reading this), the Isles select their new franchise defenseman in Schaefer with their first pick of the Mathieu Darche era.
2. San Jose Sharks – F Anton Frondell

While most expected Michael Misa here, it looks like San Jose’s leaning toward Frondell. A bit of a curveball, but whether it's Misa or Frondell, San Jose adds a key piece to their young forward core.
3. Chicago Blackhawks – F Michael Misa

If San Jose passes on Misa, Chicago should sprint to the podium. After going defense last year with Artyom Levshunov, the Hawks get their game-breaking forward and add even more elite skill to their prospect pool.
4. Utah Mammoth – F Brady Martin

This has been rumored since the combine, and after acquiring J.J. Peterka, Utah’s need to prioritize bringing in even more size and upside. Martin brings both.
5. Nashville Predators – F Roger McQueen

Barry Trotz loves his prairie boys, and the Preds need a center. I like the match here for both player and team.
6. Philadelphia Flyers – F Caleb Desnoyers

After trading for Trevor Zegras, the Flyers don't stop adding pieces down the middle. Philly turns it's attention to the QMJHL and brings in Desnoyers. In one week, Philly makes two key additions down the middle.
7. Boston Bruins – F Porter Martone

Boston may look to trade this pick, but if they stay put and Martone’s still on the board, he just feels like a Bruin to me. Martone is tough, skilled, and built for playoff hockey. Would be a great get here for the B's as they start their rebuild.
8. Seattle Kraken – D Radim Mrtka

Seattle takes Mrtka who played right in their backyard with the Thunderbirds in the WHL. The Czech defenseman would be a great add for this Kraken team searching for an identity under new coach Lane Lambert.
9. Buffalo Sabres – F James Hagens

Buffalo ends Hagens’ slide and adds the highly skilled forward who was the projected number one pick at the start of the season. And let’s be real—he’ll probably win a Cup... just after Buffalo trades him in five or six years.
10. Anaheim Ducks – F Victor Eklund

Anaheim finishes the top 10 by adding another weapon to their already promising forward group. Another exciting piece for the Ducks' who are quickly developing one of the league's more exciting young teams.
