There are usually surprises throughout the NBA offseason, and this summer should be no exception. The trade market will undoubtedly heat up as teams try to restructure their rosters and superstars could be on the move. After the Luka Doncic trade, it is clear no one in this league is untouchable. Inspired by that blockbuster deal, here are five outrageous NBA trade ideas I'd love to see this summer—each featuring All-Star talent and the potential to shake up the league.

KD Finally Ends Up a Knick

The Trade:

Suns Receive: O.G. Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, Pacome Dadiet

Knicks Receive: Kevin Durant

Based on reports from some of the league's top experts, it appears that the Suns and Kevun Durant are headed for a split this summer. Before deciding on Brooklyn in 2019, Durant was on the verge of joining the Knicks. This time, it happens. With Durant joining Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Knicks acquire another superstar, creating one of the league's best trios. While Anunoby is effective when he’s in the lineup for New York, they have players who can compensate for his absence on defense, such as Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges. The Knicks get off Anunoby's contract and let Mitchell Robinson go, making a bold move that immediately puts them in the running for the championship. The Suns, on the other hand, remain competitive by retooling around Devin Booker by acquiring Anunoby's stellar defense and Robinson's rim protection.

Ja Morant To The Bulls

The Trade:

Grizzlies Receive: Patrick Williams, Coby White, 2025 First Round Pick, 2027 First Round Pick (Top 5 Protected)

Bulls Receive: Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr.

The Bulls are kind of stuck in no-man’s land; they never seem bad enough to finish near the bottom, and never good enough to be a real threat for anything outside of a play-in berth. Chicago makes the big move and brings in the point guard who has long been compared to Derrick Rose in Ja Morant. Recent rumors have swirled that the Grizzlies may explore the market for Morant this offseason, and if that’s the case, I don’t see them trading him within the conference. Morant gives the Bulls the star they’ve been looking for since the days of Jimmy Butler. If Memphis does move Morant, it’s likely due to off-the-court concerns. In this deal, Memphis gets Coby White, a sharpshooter, and Patrick Williams, a versatile defender. To keep building around Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane, they also acquire two future first-round picks. The Bulls receive the exciting player they’ve needed to give them a genuine chance at postseason contention, while the Grizzlies could retool for the future.

Zion Williamson Heads Down To South Beach

The Trade:

Pelicans Receive: Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, 2026 First Round Pick (NOLA Gets Right To Swap)

Heat Receive: Zion Williamson

In what has been a lost season for New Orleans, the Pelicans decide it's time to pull the plug on the Zion era as they prepare to bring in another top pick in this year’s draft. New Orleans acquires veterans in Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson to pair with Dejounte Murray and a projected top prospect in this year’s class, as they sit near the bottom of the standings. On the other hand, the Heat get Zion Williamson, a high-upside talent who has the potential to be a game-changer when healthy. After trading Jimmy Butler, Miami acquires a player who can bring that star power. If anyone can tap into Williamson's potential, I think Miami is the team to do it.

Trae Young & Anthony Edwards Form a Dynamic Duo

The Trade:

Hawks Receive: Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo, 2025 First Round Pick (Via DET), 2028 First Round Pick (ATL Gets Right To Swap)

Timberwolves Receive: Trae Young, Terance Mann

The Wolves try to make up for their terrible mistake in trading Karl-Anthony Towns. Minnesota hopes to create a more dynamic offensive core by pairing Trae Young with Anthony Edwards. After a setback, they hope this move helps them get back on track. With Naz Reid taking another step forward, Minnesota trades Rudy Gobert, giving the Hawks a strong defensive base they can build around, as they continue developing a balanced team that showed promise earlier this season.

The Wildest Three Team Trade in NBA History?

The Trade:

Bucks Receive: Devin Vassell, Jonathan Isaac, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Keldon Johnson, 2025 First Round Pick (From SAS), 2025 First Round Pick (From ORL via DEN), 2026 First Round Pick (From ORL), Three 2026 Second Round Picks (From SAS), 2027 First Round Pick (From SAS via ATL) Two 2028 Second Round Picks (From SAS), 2029 First Round Pick (From SAS)

Magic Receive: Damian Lillard

Spurs Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Chris Livingston

If the Bucks don't at least make it the Conference Finals this season, I would not surprised if this is the year Giannis Antetokounmpo asks to be traded, if he does, expect Lillard to also be made available for trade. If Milwaukee does have another poor postseason run, they may have to start over, which would completely change the NBA.

This trade would be historic and could change the NBA for years to come. The Bucks begin the rebuild by bringing in a number of draft selections and young players, positioning themselves for the future while also getting solid young players in Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson.

The Magic desperately need offensive help, and Damian Lillard gives them a star to pair with Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero. Orlando could acquire the star power they need from this to establish themselves as a serious contender in the Eastern Conference.

The Spurs, meanwhile, make the ultimate power play by acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo. With the Greek Freak teaming up with De'Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs immediately become a contender for the championship in 2026. With Antetokounmpo and Wembanyama, San Antonio would immediately have what may be the best defensive front court in NBA history. They would also have a point guard in Fox who could lead the offense.
