The Silcoff Selections are here for January 6th, 2026. With all the action in sports tonight, here are some of my favourite plays across sports today.

NBA:

Orlando Magic -7.5 @ Washington Wizards (-110)

There aren’t many spots where you get to fade Washington while laying single digits, and this is one of them. Orlando has completely dominated this matchup, winning the last ten meetings and covering in eight of those games. Against a Wizards team that continues to struggle, I’m comfortable laying the points with the Magic on the road.

Dallas Mavericks @ Sacramento Kings Under 233 Points (-110)

This matchup has consistently leaned under, with the total staying below the number in eight of the last ten meetings between these teams. Sacramento will be without Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis, which significantly limits their offensive production. With Dallas also proving to be inconsistent on the offensive end, I’ll take the under in this spot.

NHL:

Philadelphia Flyers Moneyline (-140) vs Anaheim Ducks

Philadelphia has won seven of the last ten meetings against Anaheim and comes into this game in a much better rest spot. The Ducks are coming off a rough 7–4 loss to Washington last night, while the Flyers are at home and haven’t played since Saturday. With the rest advantage and favourable matchup history, I like Philly to take care of business.

Vegas Golden Knights Moneyline (-115) @ Winnipeg Jets

Both of these teams are struggling, with Winnipeg dropping nine straight games and Vegas losing five in a row. That said, the Jets have been brutal all season, while the Golden Knights have at least continued to generate offense despite their skid. Vegas has also dominated this matchup, winning nine of the last ten meetings against Winnipeg, which gives me confidence backing the Knights on the road.

Edmonton Oilers Moneyline (-155) vs Nashville Predators

Edmonton has won eight of the last ten meetings against Nashville and continues to be a tough out in this matchup. While the Predators have played well enough to push themselves back into the playoff mix in the West, the Oilers are simply the more talented team. At home, I’ll back Edmonton to take care of business.
