It's Time For a Split: Six Trade Ideas That Get Giannis Antetokounmpo Out of Milwaukee

After losing in the first round for the third straight season, the talk of Giannis Antetokounmpo leaving Milwaukee has never been louder or more realistic. Should Antetokounmpo and the Bucks decide it is time to move from one another, Milwaukee would have no shortage of suitors for the two-time MVP. With that, here are six destinations and packages I could see being enough to land Antetokounmpo's services this summer.

People Keep Saying Brooklyn For Some Reason

The Trade:

Nets Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Bucks Receive: Nic Claxton, Cam Johnson, Four First Round Picks

While I don't think it makes the most sense, for a long period of time now, there has been a lot of chatter about Antetokounmpo ending up in Brooklyn should he want out of Milwaukee. Brooklyn, of course, at this point is a Giannis away from competing for a championship; acquiring the Greek Freak would be a solid start to building a contender. Given how many picks and salary cap flexibility the Nets have, they could put a package together that gives Milwaukee draft capital, as well as pieces in Johnson and Claxton that could fetch them either move assets as they move into a rebuild.

You Just Know The Raptors Name Is Gonna Come Up

The Trade:

Raptors Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Bucks Receive: Immanuel Quickley, R.J. Barrett, Four First Round Picks

Nobody loves getting involved in trade rumors more than Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri! Should the Bucks and Antetokounmpo decide to part ways, there is no doubt in my mind that we would hear about Toronto trying to land Giannis. Much like my Brooklyn proposal, the Bucks would get quality players in Barrett and Quickley in this deal, along with four first-round picks to begin their rebuild. For the Raptors, Giannis would instantly make them relevant again, which has not been the case over the last several years.

A Zion Williamson for Giannis Trade Would Not Shock Me

The Trade:

Pelicans Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kyle Kuzma

Bucks Receive: Zion Williamson, Kelly Olynyk, Herbert Jones, Three First Round Picks

Yes, this would be a risk for both sides, but New Orleans in this case finally gets out of the Zion Williamson business and allows them to bring one of the best players in the NBA with Antetokounmpo. For Milwaukee, it would be scary to hitch your wagon to Williamson given his health concerns, but he would be one of the better players the Bucks realistically could acquire in a Giannis trade while also acquiring three additional first-rounders. A risk, yes, but perhaps one worth taking for both teams.

The Greatest Defensive Front Court Ever?

The Trade:

Spurs Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Bucks Receive: Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Harrison Barnes, Four First Round Picks

Now this is the spot I want Giannis to land the most should he be traded. In Milwaukee, the Bucks acquire solid young pieces in Vassell and Johnson, along with draft capital. San Antonio pairing Giannis up with Victor Wembanyama would instantly give the Spurs the duo with the most upside in the NBA and would make them title contenders for years to come behind perhaps the greatest defensive frontcourt in NBA history with Antetokounmpo and Wembanyama anchoring that side of the ball. Not to mention, De'Aaron Fox being able to dish both of those superstars on the offensive side of the ball. Teams across the league could be in trouble should this happen.

The Grizzlies Move Off Ja Morant

The Trade:

Grizzlies Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Bucks Receive: Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, Two First Round Picks

Could this be a rare "win-win" for both sides? Antetokounmpo to Memphis pairs him with young players such as Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane as the Grizzlies look to get back to title contention. Over the last few months, there have been whispers that Memphis could look to move off star point guard Ja Morant as his past couple of seasons have been marred by injuries and off-the-court drama. In this scenario, both teams get superstar-caliber players, and each franchise gets a fresh start.

Houston, The Greek Freak Has Landed

The Trade:

Rockets Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Bucks Receive: Alperen Sengun, Reed Sheppard, Jock Landale, Three First Round Picks

If these playoffs have proven anything, it's that the Houston Rockets don't have that superstar-caliber player, and if they want to take that next step, they may need to make a big swing. While it would hurt to move off Sengun, Sheppard, and draft picks, windows in the NBA are shorter than we always think, and Antetokounmpo ensures the Rockets they will be able to compete for the next couple of seasons. For Milwaukee, this trade offers a blend of immediate talent and future assets. Sengun is already an All-Star player, and Sheppard just last June was the third overall pick. Getting these young players and draft picks helps the Bucks facilitate a potential rebuild.
