My Dream Landing Spots For NFL Players Who Could Be on the Move

This week is the NFL Draft Combine, and this is usually where business gets done for the first portion of the offseason. Whether that be agents talking to general managers about potential contracts or teams talking with one another about the framework of trades that could get finalized before the start of the new league year.
With some big names potentially on the move this offseason, whether that be via free agency or the trade market, I want to give some of my dream landing spots for these players if they are going to be switching uniforms next year.
Keep in mind, I will not be saying my dream landing spot for any of these players is the team they are currently on. This is simply based on if they are moving teams in the offseason. Also, these aren’t predictions on where I think they’ll go, this is simply where I want them to land.
Brian Thomas Jr.- New England Patriots

Thomas Jr., in his second year in the NFL, did not have a good season based on the expectations we all had for him after Year 1 in 2024. He was a potential Rookie of the Year candidate, and in the new system under head coach Liam Coen in Jacksonville, Thomas kind of got lost in the shuffle. Jakobi Meyers became Trevor Lawrence’s number-one target after mid-season trade, and Thomas was one of the most inconsistent players in the league this year and became the subject of trade rumours midseason.
If Thomas is traded this offseason, I would love to see him in New England. The Patriots need to get Drake Maye a legit offensive weapon who’s on his timeline, because while Stefon Diggs did have a nice bounce-back season, he’s simply not a long-term answer for the Pats as a WR1. I think a change of scenery for Thomas would be great, and him being paired up with Maye could be a great connection in New England for years to come.
Maxx Crosby- Seattle Seahawks

Maxx Crosby is probably the biggest fish on the trade market this offseason, and while it’s not guaranteed the Raiders do trade him, as it would take a huge haul to land him, I do think if the Raiders are ever going to trade him, this would be the time. They hold the number one pick, you have a new head coach in Klint Kubiak who could want to get as much young talent as possible, and maybe the Raiders decide to do right by Crosby and send him to a contender.
If that’s the case, and this is a totally biased pick, as I am a fan of this team, I just keep salivating at the thought of Maxx Crosby playing in a Mike Macdonald system for the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks’ defense, in my opinion, and I said this all year long, was the best in the league. But if you had to nitpick anything on that defense, it may be their edge rushers. Crosby would come in and solve that problem right away, and I think he would be absolutely juiced at the chance to help the Seahawks potentially go back-to-back in 2026.
A.J. Brown- Los Angeles Chargers

A.J. Brown is one of the players who really does look like he’s getting traded this offseason. The Eagles have become more open to the possibility of trading their top wide receiver, and it just feels like one of those relationships that’s run its course. We saw Brown voice frustration throughout the season with the offense, and it does feel like he simply wants a fresh start elsewhere.
If he does get his wish this offseason, I would love him with the Los Angeles Chargers and Justin Herbert. Herbert is one of the best deep-ball throwers in the NFL. He has one of the strongest arms in the league, and I think the Chargers’ offense could take a huge step forward this season with an improved offensive line, as they’ll be getting Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt back, who missed either the full or a majority of the season due to injury, as well as the hiring of Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator.
I think Brown would thrive in a McDaniel system with a quarterback like Herbert. And while Brown has enjoyed a great career so far, he hasn’t consistently played with an elite quarterback like Herbert. If Brown finds his way onto the Chargers, I think he could take this offense to an entirely new level, and they would have to be taken very seriously as a contender in the AFC. With an improved offensive line, one of the best quarterbacks in the league, a wide receiver duo of Brown and Ladd McConkey, and an elite defense, obviously Herbert will still have to prove it in the playoffs, but on paper, the Chargers would be one of the best teams in the AFC.
Kyler Murray- Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have a quarterback problem.
J.J. McCarthy is unproven, and you cannot go into next season with him being the sole QB1 on this roster. The Vikings have a great team on paper, and they would be wasting another year of one of the best receivers of all time in his prime with Justin Jefferson.
Listen, other people might be super down on Kyler Murray, but I still somewhat believe in him. I still think he can be a quarterback who, at the very least, takes you to the playoffs, and who knows, maybe even wins a playoff game. If I were the Vikings, I think you take a swing on Murray.
His arm is extremely underrated as I think he has one of the strongest arms in the NFL. His athleticism has gone underrated as well, as he’s still one of the more elusive quarterbacks in the league. And I think Kevin O’Connell could work some magic with a player of his skill set. This could be a part of O’Connell’s offense we’ve never really seen before, as he’s mostly worked with pocket passers like Kirk Cousins and Sam Darnold in Minnesota.
I would be super fascinated to see what he would do with Murray. And while Murray’s size could be a problem for some, I still think there’s enough upside to make it worth taking a swing on. I would love to see Murray paired up with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in Minnesota.
Tyreek Hill- Jacksonville Jaguars

Tyreek Hill has already been cut by the Miami Dolphins, and he’s already a free agent, so he could sign any day now. While a lot of people would say they’d love to see him reunite with the Kansas City Chiefs, I wouldn’t, honestly. Instead, I think a super fascinating fit could be the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This is somewhat assuming Brian Thomas Jr. isn’t on the team, but even with Thomas Jr., I still love Hill with the Jags. I think they’re kind of lacking that true downfield weapon right now, as Thomas Jr. didn’t show last year that he can consistently be that in Liam Coen’s system. And while Hill might not be the athlete he once was, coming off a major knee injury, I do think the Jags would be a great fit for him.
Jakobi Meyers can be that slot receiver, while Tyreek Hill helps take the top off the defense. Trevor Lawrence does have a strong enough arm to get the ball to Hill down the field, so I think the Jags are a super intriguing fit for Hill going forward, with or without Thomas Jr. in the fold.
Kenneth Walker III- Denver Broncos

As a Seattle Seahawks fan, I want Kenneth Walker back on the team next year. He’s our Super Bowl MVP, he had an outstanding playoff run, and without Zach Charbonnet to at least start the year, who’s coming off a torn ACL he suffered in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, we need a running back we can rely on. Walker showed in the playoffs that he can be that workhorse.
However, I do have to assume the worst at this point. And if Walker does leave the Seahawks, I want to see him succeed elsewhere. I hope he doesn’t just go to the highest bidder, but instead goes somewhere he can really perform. I think that place could be the Denver Broncos.
The Broncos need more explosiveness in the run game, and I think he’d be a great fit for Bo Nix. The Broncos would also give Walker something he hasn’t had throughout his entire career, an elite offensive line to play behind. In Sean Payton’s system, I think he would instantly become the best weapon Nix has on that offense. Yes, I do think he would be even more impactful than Courtland Sutton for that unit.
He would take pressure off Nix, who Sean Payton clearly has high expectations for to get the ball down the field.
Walker could make early downs so much easier on the quarterback heading into his third year, and he could be the final piece to help the Broncos get over the hump in the AFC after being so close this past season.
