Over or Under 8.5 Wins? The Way Too Early Edition Of Predicting The Seattle Seahawks 2025 Record Game-By-Game

The 2025 NFL schedule is here, and year two of the Mike Macdonald era is underway.

Following an up-and-down season in 2024 that saw the Seattle Seahawks just miss the playoffs with a 10-7 record, the Seahawks made major moves this offseason. Longtime franchise staples like Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, and Geno Smith have gone elsewhere. In their place are new additions such as Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp, and DeMarcus Lawrence to help usher in this new era of Seahawk football.

Heading into 2025, the roster looks much different, and this is officially Mike Macdonald's team. With the schedule now in place, it's time to see if these bold moves will pay dividends. Here is my way-too-early edition of predicting the Seattle Seahawks' 2025 record, game by game.

Week 1: Home vs San Francisco 49ers

Not many teams are under more pressure than the San Francisco 49ers this season after an awful 2024 season that saw them finish 6-11. I expect the 49ers stars to be healthy and ready to go for opening weekend this year, and even though this is a good first test for the Seahawks, I think they fall at home in Week 1 to their division rival.

Prediction: Loss (0-1)

Week 2: Road vs Pittsburgh Steelers

In the Seahawks' first road game of the season, they travel to Pittsburgh to take on their former star, D.K. Metcalf, and his new team, the Steelers. Despite this being a road game, I think the Seahawks get their first win of the season. We still have no idea who Pittsburgh's quarterback is going to be, and aside from Metcalf, I don't see any real vertical threats in this offense. Seattle gets their first win of 2025 in a defensive slugfest.

Prediction: Win (1-1)

Week 3: Home vs New Orleans Saints

I'm going to be honest, I think the Saints very well could be picking first overall in the 2026 draft, that's how bad I think they will be this season. Seahawks get a dominant win at home to pick up their first win at Lumen Field in 2025.

Prediction: Win (2-1)

Week 4: Thursday Night Football at Arizona Cardinals

Over the last few seasons, the Seahawks have dominated the Arizona Cardinals, sweeping them the last three seasons. Despite this being a short week and having to go on the road, the Seahawks' pass rush overwhelms Kyler Murray as the Seahawks pick up their third straight win.

Prediction: Win (3-1)

Week 5: Home vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After ten days off, the Seahawks return home to take on the Buccaneers in what could be a great game. Once again, I think the defense makes life difficult for the opposing quarterback, as the secondary is able to pick off Baker Mayfield a couple of times to improve to 4-1.

Prediction: Win (4-1)

Week 6: Road vs Jacksonville Jaguars

The Seahawks will get their first look at Travis Hunter when they travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence is one of the most turnover-prone quarterbacks in football, and while they did revamp their coaching staff, the Jaguars' defense still isn't great. Seattle wins once again.

Prediction: Win (5-1)

Week 7: Monday Night Football vs Houston Texans

While a Monday night football game in Seattle is always great, I think this is just an awful matchup for the Seahawks. I think the Texans' dominant pass rush will destroy this young offense, thus getting to Sam Darnold and making his life hell. The Texans go into Seattle and pick up a win in a game I think could get ugly.

Prediction: Loss (5-2)

Week 8: Bye Week

At the Week 8 bye, the Seahawks sit at 5-2, firmly in the playoff race.

Week 9: Sunday Night Football at Washington Commanders

After the bye week, the Seahawks head to the nation's capital to take on the Commanders in primetime. Unfortunately, I think another loss comes their way. Jayden Daniels puts on a show under the bright lights in a loss that I think could expose some of the Seahawks' flaws.

Prediction: Loss (5-3)

Week 10: Home vs Arizona Cardinals

After back-to-back losses, the Seahawks return home and take care of business against the Cardinals to clinch a fourth-straight sweep of Arizona.

Prediction: Win (6-3)

Week 11: Road vs Los Angeles Rams

While Cooper Kupp's return to LA could give the Seahawks the emotional spark they need, the Rams prove to be too much for the Seahawks to handle. Sean McVay has dominated Seattle since he arrived in Los Angeles, and he once again gets the best of the Seahawks.

Prediction: Loss (6-4)

Week 12: Road vs Tennessee Titans

For the first time ever, the Seahawks face off against Tyler Lockett as he enters his season with the Titans. While this could be a trap game for the Seahawks, there is a reason why they Titans picked first in the draft, they are not a good football team. While I do think Cam Ward will succeed at this level, I think it could be a rough first season. Seahawks win on the road.

Prediction: Win (7-4)

Week 13: Home vs Minnesota Vikings

After reviving his career last year with the Vikings, Sam Darnold gets a chance to take on his former team when the Seahawks host the Vikings. Unfortunately for Darnold and the Seahawks, the Vikings roster is simply one of the best in the league. Minnesota's coaching staff saw both Darnold's strengths and flaws last season. With that, I think they cook up a game plan to get to him where the Vikings win in Seattle for the second straight year.

Prediction: Loss (7-5)

Week 14: Road vs Atlanta Falcons

Listen, I like Michael Penix Jr.; I think he has the potential to be one of the best pure pocket passers in football. However, I am just shorting the Falcons as an organization this season. I think with another disappointing season, there could be major changes in Atlanta next offseason, and the Seahawks help do that by picking up a big road win victory.

Prediction: Win (8-5)

Week 15: Home vs Indianapolis Colts

Like the Falcons, another team I am very down on this season is the Indianapolis Colts. I have no idea who will be under center for them come December, and to be honest, neither Anthony Richardson nor Daniel Jones moves me. The Seahawks win and clinch another winning season.

Prediction: Win (9-5)

Week 16: Thursday Night Football vs Los Angeles Rams

In their second meeting of the year, the Seahawks take on the Rams at home in primetime on a short week. As much as I'd like to say Seattle gets the win to even the season series, I just have so much respect for the Rams. At this point in the year, I think Los Angeles will be fighting for the NFC's number one seed and pick up a huge road win at Lumen Field, handing the Seahawks their sixth loss of the season.

Prediction: Loss (9-6)

Week 17: Road vs Carolina Panthers

In the second-to-last game of the season, the Seahawks pick up a crucial road win in Carolina to clinch back-to-back 10-win campaigns under Mike Macdonald. While there’s a scenario where the Panthers are still hanging around the playoff conversation, the Bryce Young hype does feel a bit much to me. This Panthers team is still rebuilding, and Seattle’s defense comes out swinging to take care of business.

Prediction: Win (10-6)

Week 18: Road vs San Francisco 49ers

I have a feeling this game could have serious playoff implications. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a hard time seeing the Sam Darnold-led Seahawks marching into Levi’s Stadium and pulling off a win against a loaded Niners team that always seems to have their number. San Francisco gets the win and sends Seattle to 10-7 for the second straight year.

Time will tell if that is good enough to make the playoffs.

Prediction: Loss (10-7)

Season Record: 10-7

Home Record: 4-4

Road Record: 6-3

Division Record: 2-4
