The Silcoff Selections: NFL Week 8 Predictions – Straight Up & Against the Spread Picks

The Silcoff Selections are here for Week 8 of the 2026 NFL Season! Below are my records for my straight up and against the spread picks for the season thus far.
Records Last Week:
Straight Up: 10-4
Against The Spread: 9-5
Season Records:
Straight Up: 64-42-1
Against The Spread: 51-55-1
Thursday Night Football: Carolina Panthers (3-3) @ Green Bay Packers (4-3) I Line: Packers -3.5

Week 8 kicks off on Thursday Night Football with the Panthers and Packers. Green Bay is coming off a physical divisional game in Detroit, while Carolina is coming off a blowout loss at home to the Buccaneers.
Both teams are dealing with injuries, especially at receiver, but I like Carolina to keep this one close in a desperate spot. Ultimately, I think Green Bay gets the win at home.
Score Prediction: Packers 26, Panthers 23
ATS Pick: Panthers +3.5
Sunday Slate:

Arizona Cardinals (2-5) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-4) I Line: Cowboys -6.5
I think this will be a high-scoring game between the Cardinals and Cowboys. Dallas is on a short week after a win in Philly on Monday Night, while Arizona is coming off a tough loss to the Broncos.
Give me Dallas to win at home in what should be a high-scoring affair, as both defenses tend to struggle. I do think Arizona will make a couple of big plays and put some points on the board, but Dallas gets the win.
Score Prediction: Cowboys 30, Cardinals 24
ATS Pick: Cardinals +6.5
Atlanta Falcons (3-4) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5) I Line: Buccaneers -2.5
It's an NFC South showdown in Tampa as the Falcons travel to take on the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is coming off an impressive 43-13 win over Carolina, while Atlanta handed the previously undefeated 49ers their first loss of the season.
Give me Atlanta to win on the road. Both of these teams are tough to figure out week to week, but the Falcons simply have the better playmakers right now. Baker Mayfield could shake off some more rust in his second game back from his thumb injury, but he only threw the ball 11 times last week so it's tough to tell how healthy he truly is. I think Atlanta's playmakers like Bijan Robinson and Drake London make the difference and get the Falcons the win on the road.
Score Prediction: Falcons 24, Buccaneers 19
ATS Pick: Falcons +2.5
Baltimore Ravens (4-3) @ Buffalo Bills (5-1) I Line: Bills -3.5
In what could be one of the marquee games of the season, we get the Ravens and Bills. Assuming Lamar Jackson returns to the lineup this week, I like Baltimore to go into Buffalo and pull off the upset.
The Bills are coming off a bye, but there are still questions about whether their top weapons, including DJ Moore, will be available. Even if Moore plays, I think Baltimore has the more talented roster. The Ravens also can't afford a third straight loss if they want to stay in the AFC North race.
With Jackson back at 100%, I think it opens up more opportunities for Derrick Henry to control possession and get the running game going. Baltimore is the more desperate team coming off a couple of tough losses, and I'm taking the Ravens to get the road win.
Score Prediction: Ravens 28, Bills 27
ATS Pick: Ravens +3.5
Cleveland Browns (5-2) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) I Line: Steelers -3.5
The Steelers and Browns face off in what will be a game for first place in the AFC North. Who would have thought that heading into November?
Give me Pittsburgh to win at home. These teams typically split their regular-season series, and with Cleveland winning their first matchup on Thursday Night Football a few weeks ago, I like the Steelers to even things up. Pittsburgh gets the win, moves to 6-2, and sits atop the AFC North.
Score Prediction: Steelers 22, Browns 16
ATS Pick: Steelers -3.5
Indianapolis Colts (2-5) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2) I Line: Jaguars -9.5
After trading Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner this week, the Colts are starting to sell off players and seem ready to concede the season, while the Jaguars are coming off their bye week. Jacksonville has been one of the more impressive teams in the NFL this year, and I think that continues this week.
Give me the Jaguars to absolutely thump Indianapolis at home and gain even more ground atop the AFC South. At this point, it looks like Jacksonville's division to lose.
Score Prediction: Jaguars 31, Colts 20
ATS Pick: Jaguars -9.5
Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) @ New York Jets (2-5) I Line: Jets +1.5
The Raiders and Jets face off in a matchup between two teams looking to get back on track. Give me Las Vegas to go on the road and win in New York, snapping its four-game losing streak.
The Jets are coming off a brutal home loss to the Dolphins, allowing Miami to pick up its first win of the season. While the Raiders have had their struggles, they've shown they can compete with some of the NFL's best, keeping games close against the Chiefs and Bills. Last week's loss to the Rams wasn't pretty, but I think facing an Aaron Glenn-led Jets team presents a good opportunity to turn things around.
Geno Smith might have viewed this as a revenge game, but it won't go his way. Give me Kirk Cousins and the Raiders to get the road win and snap their losing streak.
Score Prediction: Raiders 21, Jets 17
ATS Pick: Raiders +1.5
Minnesota Vikings (6-0) @ Detroit Lions (4-2) I Line: Lions -3.5
The Vikings and Lions face off in what should be a great NFC North matchup. I think we're going to see a fascinating battle between the Lions' high-powered offense and Minnesota's defense. Over the last few years, we've seen good defenses increasingly find ways to beat even the best offenses, and I think the Vikings will have answers for Detroit.
Amon-Ra St. Brown is a little banged up, although he should play, and while Detroit's defense held up against Green Bay last week, I think Minnesota will be able to move the ball. Unlike the Packers, I don't expect the Vikings to constantly go for it on fourth down. They'll be willing to take the field goals and put points on the board.
I also think Justin Jefferson has his best game of the season against a vulnerable Lions secondary, while Kyler Murray could start to find his rhythm. Brian Flores has consistently found ways to make life difficult for opposing offenses, and Detroit managed just 17 points against Green Bay last week.
Give me Minnesota to go on the road, get the win, and improve to 7-0.
Score Prediction: Vikings 23, Lions 21
ATS Pick: Vikings +3.5
Tennessee Titans (1-6) @ Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) I Line: Bengals -10.5
I don't have much to say about this one. Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins are going to eat against an absolutely awful Titans team. Give me Cincinnati to win big at home.
Score Prediction: Bengals 31, Titans 17
ATS Pick: Bengals -10.5
Los Angeles Chargers (0-6) @ Los Angeles Rams (3-4) I Line: Rams -6.5
The Chargers are coming off their bye week sitting at 0-6, while the 3-4 Rams are looking to get back into the NFC playoff picture. And honestly, I don't know why, but I just have a feeling this is exactly what the Chargers needed.
I simply can't see Jim Harbaugh falling to 0-7. Maybe it's the extra week of rest, but I'm taking the Chargers to pull off the upset of the week in the LA Bowl. We've seen the Rams play down to their competition before, and I think it happens again here.
Give me the Los Angeles Chargers to get their first win of the season against their stadium counterparts, leaving the Rams shocked once again.
Score Prediction: Chargers 24, Rams 22
ATS Pick: Chargers +6.5
Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) @ Denver Broncos (5-2) I Line: Chiefs -1.5
It's an AFC West battle as the Chiefs travel to Denver. Kansas City is coming off one of the worst offensive performances of the Patrick Mahomes era after getting demolished by the Seahawks, while the Broncos have found ways to win games this season despite some ugly performances of their own.
At the start of the week, I thought there was no way Kansas City would lose this game. While I'm still picking the Chiefs to win, I think Denver covers at home and could even pull off the upset. I don't think these teams are as far apart as their Week 1 matchup suggested, and Kansas City's offensive line could struggle against Denver's pass rush.
I expect this to be a one-possession game late. Bo Nix has shown he can deliver in those situations, but there's no quarterback I trust more in a close game right now than Patrick Mahomes. I think Denver holds a late lead before Mahomes takes the Chiefs down the field for a game-winning touchdown drive.
Give me Kansas City to prevail in a one-point squeaker.
Score Prediction: Chiefs 21, Broncos 20
ATS Pick: Broncos +1.5
New England Patriots (4-3) @ Miami Dolphins (1-5) I Line: Patriots -6.5
Congratulations to the Dolphins on getting their first win of the season last week against the Jets, a result predicted by yours truly. And who knows? That could end up being their last win of the year, given how bad this roster has looked.
New England is coming off a Thursday Night Football loss in Chicago, but they’ll be well-rested heading into this matchup. I like the Patriots to bounce back and beat Miami, to improve to 5-3 as they look to stay in the AFC East race.
Score Prediction: Patriots 28, Dolphins 17
ATS Pick: Patriots -6.5
Sunday Night Football: Philadelphia Eagles (2-5) @ Washington Commanders (1-4-1) I Line: Commanders -5.5

I still can't believe the NFL kept Eagles-Commanders as our Sunday Night Football matchup with some of the other juicy games on the slate this week. Nevertheless, I think Philadelphia is dealing with too many injuries right now, and Washington has a real opportunity to take advantage.
The Commanders are coming off their bye week and are the more desperate team in this matchup. I think they want to win this division more right now, and they'll come out ready to prove it.
Give me Jayden Daniels to pick up his first win in over a year as Washington hands Philadelphia its sixth straight loss.
Score Prediction: Commanders 24, Eagles 16
ATS Pick: Commanders -5.5
Monday Night Football: Chicago Bears (5-2) @ Seattle Seahawks (4-3) I Line: Seahawks -3.5

On Monday Night Football, we get a coaching matchup I absolutely cannot wait to see as Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears travel to Seattle to take on Mike Macdonald and the Seahawks.
In my opinion, over the last five years, Ben Johnson has been the best offensive coaching hire in the NFL, while Mike Macdonald has been the best defensive hire. I can't wait to see this chess match play out. I think Seattle has the more dominant unit in this game, with its defense going up against Chicago's offense.
Ultimately, I think the other side of the ball will decide this matchup. I just don't see how the Bears' secondary will be able to contain Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and I don't expect Sam Darnold to be overwhelmed by Chicago's defense. The Bears could force some turnovers and give Caleb Williams short fields to work with against Seattle's defense, but I think playing at home with that dominant defense will be the difference.
With Smith-Njigba continuing to dominate, give me the Seahawks to win what I think will be one of the games of the year on Monday night at Lumen Field.
Score Prediction: Seahawks 23, Bears 20
ATS Pick: Bears +3.5
