The Seattle Seahawks are winning the NFC West this season.

Seattle’s Week 3 performance was nothing short of dominant, beating the New Orleans Saints 44–13. People will point out that it was just the Saints, but that doesn’t matter. This defense showed up without three starters in Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love, or Nick Emmanwori and still completely shut the Saints down. Mike MacDonald, in his second year as head coach, continues to prove he is a defensive mastermind, and I believe he has totally transformed this defense into a top five unit in the NFL.

On the offensive side, Jaxon Smith-Njigba delivered another outstanding performance, going for 5-96-1, proving once again he belongs in the top-10 wide receiver conversation. At quarterback, Sam Darnold is starting to settle in. Game by game, he looks more comfortable, and it’s clear he’s an upgrade over Geno Smith.

Looking ahead, the Seahawks face the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football—a matchup Seattle owns. I expect this team to move to 3–1. Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be tougher. I picked Tampa Bay to make it out of the NFC before the season, and I’ll be in the building for that one. Even if Seattle takes a loss there, they’ll still be firmly in the race. After that comes the Jacksonville Jaguars, and I’ll admit, Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. have been ruining my fantasy season, so a little payback would be sweet.

The Seahawks, with their elite defense and improving offense, are making significant progress, putting the rest of the NFC West under pressure.

If they stay healthy, the Seattle Seahawks are winning the division. You heard it here first.
