The Silcoff Selections are here for January 14th, 2026. With all the action in sports tonight, here are some of my favourite plays across sports today.

NHL:

Philadelphia Flyers @ Buffalo Sabres over 6 Total Goals (-125)

The over has hit in 7 of the last 10 meetings between these teams and pushed twice. That trend includes both matchups this season, which finished with 7 and 8 total goals respectively. With how these two tend to play against each other, I expect the offense to be on full display once again and the over to come through.

Vegas Golden Knights @ Los Angeles Kings over 5.5 Total Goals (-120)

The over has hit in 7 of the last 10 meetings between these Pacific Division rivals. Vegas’ offense is starting to find its stride, coming off a 7–2 win Sunday in San Jose, their third straight victory. Given the Golden Knights’ current goaltending situation, I also expect the Kings to be able to find the back of the net. All signs point to goals in this one.

NBA:

Brooklyn Nets Moneyline @ New Orleans Pelicans (-125)

Yes, it’s an ugly matchup, but Brooklyn has quietly been playing better basketball lately, largely due to the resurgence of Michael Porter Jr. On the other side, New Orleans is coming off a competitive loss last night against Denver, which could leave them dealing with some fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back. I’ll take the slightly steadier team right now and grab Brooklyn on the moneyline.

New York Knicks -11 @ Sacramento Kings (-110)

New York has covered in 8 of the last 10 games against Sacramento, and the Kings will be without Domantas Sabonis and Dennis Schröder in this one. The Knicks are clearly the better team and come in well-rested, having not played since Sunday when they won on the road in Portland. With the talent edge and rest advantage, I expect New York to control this game and cover the number.

Los Angeles Clippers -12.5 vs Washington Wizards (-110)

The Clippers have covered in 9 of the last 10 games against Washington, and this Wizards team is arguably the worst in basketball right now. After a rough start to the season, LA has worked its way back into the Western Conference playoff picture and this is the type of game they need to take care of. At home, with a massive talent edge, I expect the Clippers to control this one from start to finish and cover the number.
