The Silcoff Selections are here for January 16th, 2026. With all the action in sports tonight, here are some of my favourite plays across sports today.
NHL:
Los Angeles Kings Moneyline (-150) vs Anaheim Ducks

Anaheim’s season has gone off the rails after a strong start, and they come into this one shorthanded without top scorer Leo Carlsson, while Chris Kreider is also questionable. The Kings have dominated this matchup, winning eight of the last ten against the Ducks. On home ice, against an Anaheim team that’s simply not playing good hockey right now, I’ll take Los Angeles to take care of business on the moneyline.
NBA
Philadelphia 76ers -2.5 vs Cleveland Cavaliers (-110)

I get the hesitation here after Cleveland blew Philly out by 26 on Wednesday, and I wouldn’t blame anyone for fading this spot. That said, this sets up well as a bounce-back game for the Sixers, especially with the Cavs expected to be without Darius Garland, which is a big hit to their offense. It’s hard to see Philadelphia losing to Cleveland at home twice in the same week, and the Sixers have covered seven of the last ten meetings overall. I’ll take Philly to respond at home.
Toronto Raptors Moneyline (-130) vs Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers have been playing better basketball lately, but this is a different spot without Kawhi Leonard available. With Ivica Zubac and John Collins both questionable, this could turn into a very James Harden–dependent game, and Toronto has the perimeter defenders to make that uncomfortable. The Raptors are at home and coming off a win against Indiana on Wednesday, and I like them to ride that momentum and take care of business. Give me Toronto on the moneyline.
