The Silcoff Selections are here for January 3rd, 2026. With all the action in sports tonight, here are some of my favourite plays across sports today.
NFL:
Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Under 43.5 Points (-110)

Baker Mayfield has looked like a shell of himself since the shoulder injury, and it’s hard to trust this Tampa Bay offense to consistently move the ball. On the other side, Bryce Young is stepping into the biggest game of his career with playoff implications, a spot where I could see him struggling at first. These two teams stayed under 45 points in their last meeting just two weeks ago, and I expect a similar low-scoring script to play out again.
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers Over 47.5 Points (-110)

This San Francisco defense hasn’t been good, and I expect Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and the Seahawks offense to be able to put points on the board. This over ultimately comes down to an elite 49ers offense going head-to-head with an elite Seahawks defense. San Francisco’s offense is humming right now, with Brock Purdy playing unreal over his last two games, and that unit should still find ways to score despite Seattle’s strength on that side of the ball. If the Seahawks can also take advantage of a shaky 49ers defense, this matchup sets up for a high-level chess match that produces enough points to push this game over the total.
NBA:
Toronto Raptors -4 (-110) vs Atlanta Hawks

Toronto has covered in each of its last four games against Atlanta and comes into this matchup with a clear rest advantage. The Raptors are coming off two days off, while the Hawks are on the second night of a back-to-back after playing last night. At home, with fresher legs, I’ll side with the more rested team and lay the points with Toronto.
NHL:
Montreal Canadiens @ St. Louis Blues Over 6 Goals (-110)

This inter-conference matchup has consistently produced offense, with the over hitting in eight of the last ten meetings between these two teams. Goaltending has been questionable at times for both sides this season, which only adds to the scoring potential. With the over already cashing in 25 of Montreal’s 40 games this year, I expect that trend to continue once again.
New Jersey Devils Moneyline (-125) vs Utah Mammoth

New Jersey has won the last three meetings against Utah and gets a favourable goaltending matchup in this spot. Utah is expected to start Vitek Vanecek, who is just 2-9-1 in his 12 starts this season. At home, with the edge in net and recent success in the matchup, give me the Devils.
