The Silcoff Selections: Best NHL & NBA Bets For January 7, 2026

The Silcoff Selections are here for January 7th, 2026. With all the action in sports tonight, here are some of my favourite plays across sports today.

NBA:

Orlando Magic Moneyline (-140) @ Brooklyn Nets

I should probably stop betting on Orlando, but this sets up as a solid rebound spot. The Magic are coming off a bad loss to the Wizards last night and should come out with urgency. Against a Nets team they’ve beaten seven times in their last ten meetings, I’ll go back to Orlando on the moneyline.

Golden State Warriors -6.5 vs Milwaukee Bucks (-110)

Tonight’s marquee matchup features Giannis and the Bucks traveling to face Steph and the Warriors. Golden State has won six of the last ten meetings against Milwaukee and has covered seven of those games. At home, in a big spot, give me the Warriors to take care of business and cover the number.

NHL:

Dallas Stars Moneyline (+120) @ Washington Capitals

Dallas has won seven of the last ten meetings against Washington and sets up in a strong bounce-back spot. The Stars are coming off a loss last night in Carolina and should respond with a sharper effort at home. With the matchup history on their side, I’ll take Dallas to get back in the win column.

St. Louis Blues Moneyline (-125) @ Chicago Blackhawks

St. Louis has dominated this division matchup, winning eight of the last ten meetings against Chicago. The Blackhawks will also be shorthanded without Connor Bedard, which significantly lowers their offensive ceiling. With the Blues riding a two-game win streak to start the new year, I’ll back them to make it three straight.
