The Silcoff Selections: NFL Week 2 Predictions – Straight Up & Against the Spread Picks

The Silcoff Selections are here for Week 2 of the 2026 NFL Season! Below are my records for my straight up and against the spread picks for the season thus far.

Thursday Night Football: Detroit Lions (1-0) @ Buffalo Bills (1-0) I Line: Bills -4.5

On Thursday Night Football, we have the Buffalo Bills taking on the Detroit Lions, as the Bills are opening their new stadium, and I like the Bills to get the job done at home.

To state the obvious, we should see two high-octane offences and two lacklustre defences, which makes me expect a shootout. Given that, I'm just going to go with the quarterback I think I trust more, and that's going to be Josh Allen.

Score Prediction: Bills 33, Lions 27

ATS Pick: Bills -4.5

Early Sunday Slate

Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) @ New England Patriots (0-1) I Line: Patriots -5.5

The Patriots are coming off one of the worst losses of Week 1 after blowing a 10-point lead to a Drew Lock-led Seahawks team after Sam Darnold went out after one series.

Maye was specifically awful by throwing three fourth-quarter interceptions to blow the game.

While the Steelers did not look great against the Falcons themselves.

This will be an ugly game, but I think New England, even without A.J. Brown, will find a way to pull this out, being the more desperate team who cannot fall to 0-2.

Score Prediction: Patriots 24, Steelers 17

ATS Pick: Patriots -5.5

Carolina Panthers (0-1) @ Atlanta Falcons (0-1) I Line: Panthers -2.5

Bryce Young's been very successful against the Falcons in his career with a 4-1 record, while Atlanta looks like they're going to be starting Cooper Rush again or Jack Strand, their fourth-string rookie quarterback.

God, it just feels hopeless in Atlanta right now.

Carolina wins on the road.

Score Prediction: Panthers 23, Falcons 16

ATS Pick: Panthers -2.5

Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) @ Houston Texans (0-1) I Line: Texans -2.5

In this matchup between two hopeful AFC contenders, I like the Texans to bounce back after losing Week 1 at home to the Bills. I think that defence is going to be motivated after a terrible effort where they wasted a great game from their offense.

Cincinnati's defence showed out last week against Tampa, and I can expect them to at least keep Houston's offence somewhat in check, but I think the best unit on the field in this game will be the Texans' defence.

I think they'll get after that Bengals offensive line to get to Joe Burrow, and the Texans get their first win of the year.

Score Prediction: Texans 27, Bengals 20

ATS Pick: Texans -2.5

Cleveland Browns (0-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1) I Line: Buccaneers -8.5

Baker Mayfield faces off against his first former team that took him first overall in 2018, the Cleveland Browns.

Just being honest, I think the Buccaneers will dominate the Browns.

The Browns' offense looked lifeless last week with Deshaun Watson at quarterback. It was so bad that this could very well be the final game of the Watson era in Cleveland, and it's only poetic that Baker Mayfield's the guy to end it, and the Buccaneers win at home.

Score Prediction: Buccaneers 28, Browns 14

ATS Pick: Buccaneers -8.5

Green Bay Packers (0-1) @ New York Jets (1-0) I Line: Packers -3.5

There might not be a team the NFL community trusts less right now than the Green Bay Packers when they have a head.

Green Bay once again blew another double-digit lead to last week's division rival, the Vikings, while the Jets are coming off a nice win against the Titans for their first win of the year in Tennessee.

I just think it's a desperate spot for the Packers. They can't afford to fall to 0-2. I think the Jets give them a run for their money. Both these defenses aren't good, and I just think Jordan Love and company will find a way to score a ton of points in this game.

Green Bay hangs on for the win.

Score Prediction: Packers 30, Jets 23

ATS Pick: Packers -3.5

Minnesota Vikings (1-0) @ Chicago Bears (1-0) I Line: Bears -4.5

The Bears are coming off scoring 59 points in Week 1 in Carolina, while the Vikings will be without Kyler Murray this week, who got knocked out of the game after suffering a concussion in in the first quarter of last week's game but still found a way to beat the Packers at home with Carson Wentz.

I do think the Vikings will keep this game close, and the Bears offense might actually struggle a bit more than people expect, especially against this Brian Flores defense. But in their home opener, I do think the Bears find a way to get it done in a tight contest.

Score Prediction: Bears 24, Vikings 21

ATS Pick: Vikings +4.5

New Orleans Saints (0-1) @ Baltimore Ravens (1-0) I Line: Ravens -8.5

I don't know why I'm doing this, but I think the Saints find a way to pull off the upset in Baltimore.

I really liked what I saw from Tyler Shough in the second half of that game in their loss to the Lions, where they rallied from 21 down to get the game to overtime.

Of course, the Ravens looked unstoppable last week with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson just dominating the Colts, but I just think this Saints team is going to be pesky.

The Ravens have lost weird home games before in the past in the Lamar Jackson era, and while this is a new era with Jesse Minter being the head coach, I think the Saints find a way to get the job done on the road.

No Zay Flowers or Jakobi Lane for the Ravens, which limits the weapons Lamar will have available to him, and the Saints' offense might be able to throw the ball on this Ravens team a bit more than people think.

Saints get it done.

ATS Pick: Saints +8.5

Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) @ Tennessee Titans (0-1) I Line: Eagles -7

The Eagles' defense looked dominant again last week against the Commanders, while the offense struggled, I do think Jalen Hurts and company will get very much on track against this awful Tennessee Titans team.

I think the Eagles go into Nashville and absolutely roll, which will lead to the concerns about Cam Ward getting even louder.

Eagles win fairly easily.

Score Prediction: Eagles 27, Titans 13

Sunday Afternoon Slate

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (0-1) I Line: Broncos -2.5

The Jaguars looked great against Cleveland last week, while the Broncos looked like one of the worst offenses in the NFL against the Chiefs last week on Monday night.

I obviously expect a much better effort from the Broncos in their home opener, but I just don't think this is a great matchup for them.

We saw last year where the Jaguars dominated them in Denver late in the season, and while I don't think the Jags' defense is that great, there's no doubt it is opportunistic, and they are able to take the ball away from the other team fairly often, which is something Bo Nix struggled to do in Week 1 and is no stranger to slow starts in seasons.

I think Trevor Lawrence keeps that momentum going and give me the Jags to go on the road to Denver and win, going to 2-0 and possibly sending Sean Payton back to play calling in Denver.

Score Prediction: Jaguars 23, Broncos 19

ATS Pick: Jaguars +2.5

Miami Dolphins (0-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-0) I Line: 49ers -13.5

The 49ers are coming off a thumping of the Rams in Australia, while the Dolphins lost what could be a very meaningful game for them in their quest to probably eventually get that number one overall pick in the 2027 draft, as they lost to the Raiders.

I can see the 49ers coming out a bit slow with the jet lag here, but I just think after halftime or midway through the third quarter, that's when they just start to dominate.

Give me the Niners big over the Dolphins, the talent discrepancy is just off the charts.

Score Prediction: 49ers 33, Dolphins 13

ATS Pick: 49ers -13.5

Las Vegas Raiders (1-0) @ Los Angeles Chargers (0-1) I Line: Chargers -6.5

Ashton Jeanty was absolutely dominant in the season opener against the Dolphins last week for the Raiders, while the Chargers are coming off the most inexcusable loss of Week 1, where they fell as nine-and-a-half-point favourites to the Cardinals.

There's no sugarcoating this one, it's a must-win for the Chargers, and with them being the more desperate team, they get the job done against a division rival and get back to 1-1.

Score Prediction: Chargers 26, Raiders 18

ATS Pick: Chargers -6.5

Seattle Seahawks (1-0) @ Arizona Cardinals (1-0) I Line: Seahawks -3.5

The Seahawks will be without Sam Darnold for this week and possibly even longer as they take on the Cardinals.

Arizona, like I said earlier, is coming off maybe the most impressive win of the last weekend, where they took down the Chargers as nine-and-a-half-point dogs on the road.

I do think the Cardinals will give the Seahawks (and us Hawks fans) a bit of a scare, especially with the personnel they have on offense, with the likes of Michael Wilson and Trey McBride, but I just think at the end of the day, this matchup will come down to the trenches.

I don't think the Arizona pass rush will be able to get to Drew Lock that much, and as long as Lock doesn't turn the ball over and gets the ball to his playmakers like JSN, Jadarian Price, and Rashid Shaheed, Seattle should find a way to score some points, and I just think the Seahawks' defensive line will dominate this Cardinals offensive line.

Mike Macdonald isn't fooling around, and the Seahawks now feel a sense of urgency to go win some games without their quarterback, to give him time to heal.

Seattle wins, even though it will be a close divisional matchup.

Score Prediction: Seahawks 23, Cardinals 17

ATS Pick: Seahawks -3.5

Washington Commanders (0-1) @ Dallas Cowboys (0-1) I Line: Cowboys -4.5

In the NFC East, this already could be a loser-leaves-town game, as we have two 0-1 teams between the Cowboys and the Commanders.

The Commanders played the Eagles tough last week, but it really didn't feel that close, even though it was only a two-point game.

While the Cowboys are just coming off being embarrassed against the Giants on Sunday Night Football, where they could not stop the young Giants offense.

I just think that this Cowboys offense is going to bounce back in a major way, and in what will be a shootout between Jayden Daniels and Dak Prescott, I'm just going to have to take the team who I think has the better quarterback and the team who I think at least has more talent and playmakers on defense.

Give me the Cowboys in what will be an entertaining NFC East game to get back to 1-1.

Score Prediction: Cowboys 31, Commanders 28

ATS Pick: Commanders +4.5

Sunday Night Football: Indianapolis Colts (0-1) @ Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) I Line: Chiefs -6.5

On Sunday Night Football, we see the Indianapolis Colts traveling to Arrowhead to take on the Chiefs.

Kansas City looks like they're back as contenders after last Monday night, with Kenneth Walker III dominating the ground game and their young defense making plays and jumping off your screen, while the Colts struggled against the Ravens.

I do think there could be a bit of a letdown spot, especially with a short week for the Chiefs.

And we did see a few years ago the Colts beat the Chiefs in an early-season battle. Again, there were so many different players in the lineup for the Colts at the time, and even a different quarterback, with Daniel Jones, who did not look sharp in his first game off the torn Achilles.

I do think Jonathan Taylor, though, will find a way to at least make some plays on this impressive Chiefs defense, but this Colts defense, who I thought would be way better, just got torched last week.

I think this is a huge Kenneth Walker and Rashee Rice game for the Chiefs, and while the Colts keep them close, Kansas City gets the win in the end to go to 2-0.

Score Prediction: Chiefs 23, Colts 20

ATS Pick: Colts +6.5

Monday Night Football: New York Giants (1-0) @ Los Angeles Rams (0-1) I Line: Rams -7.5

And then on Monday Night Football, the New York Giants travel to L.A. to take on the Rams.

This was Sean McVay's whole thing, he said the Rams were going to Australia late because they thought it would affect them less with the jet lag coming back… So the Rams better come out here guns blazing.

They'll be without Myles Garrett, who's now on IR, but Aaron Donald makes his return to the NFL, it sounds like, this week in prime time in L.A.

This should give the Rams the juice to go and execute.

Jaxson Dart and this Giants team, led by John Harbaugh, were impressive, but I think the personnel differences between the Rams and the Cowboys will be on full display.

Give me the Rams to bounce back in a major way to get to .500.
